The GSA raised Biden's hand. What is GSA?

U.S. President-elect Joe Biden's transition process, which has been stalled due to President Donald Trump's dissatisfaction and the delay in the process at the Federal Office, has barely started.

President Trump tweeted on the 23rd (local time) that "For the best interests of the nation, I advised GSA Commissioner Emily Murphy and his team to do what they had to do about the initial protocol, and told my team to do the same."

According to CNN and the media outlet The Hill, Murphy sent a letter to Biden on the same day to the effect that he could use federal resources to hand over the presidency.

Under the U.S. Presidential Transition Act, the GSA should confirm the president-elect after the presidential election and provide the necessary human and material resources for the transition. However, Murphy has been delaying his confirmation.

As he delayed confirming his election, Biden was unable to access information such as national security briefings and presidential daily briefings. This led to criticism that there could be gaps in national security and response to the new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) ahead of the launch of the next administration.

In a related development, the heads of key committees, including the House Appropriations Committee and the Government Reform Supervision Committee, have been sending letters to Murphy since last week to pressure him to confirm his status as president-elect and help him take over.

In the letter, Murphy said he was not pressured by the White House to delay the process, including confirming his status as president-elect. "Please know that I made my own decisions based on law and facts," he said.

In a tweet, President Trump said, "Thank you for your unwavering loyalty and dedication to the country," and added, "He was harassed, threatened and abused. I don't want him and his family or GSA staff to go through this."

Analysts say the current administration is finally taking steps to accept the presidential election over Trump's announcement and the GSA's move. CNN said, "This letter is the first step taken by the administration to acknowledge President Trump's defeat."

However, President Trump said in the same tweet, "Our lawsuit continues. We'll continue the good fight, and I believe we'll win," he said.
