I know three people who died and came back. 

What they all say in common is that they watched their lives as if they were watching a movie before they died. Their life was played fast in their head and they couldn't stop it. So they had no choice but to see what they did and what they did wrong. 
All of them said they felt pain watching their lives. In particular, they said it was the greatest pain to see firsthand the bad things they did to others. They said that the discomfort and pain others felt at that time were fully felt. 
 But when that time was over, they felt a certain joy. It was a joy that they had never felt in life. One of them is said to have seen baby angels greet for him. (Even though he is not a Christian) The other said he felt a warm and peaceful light all over his body. 

 There are many similar stories on the Internet.
